[97:1-5] Surah Al-Qadr (The Night of Decree)
Revealed in Makkah

–Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’ân) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)
–And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?
–The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months).
–Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allâh’s Permission with all Decrees.
–Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allâh to His believing slaves)  until the appearance of dawn.

Merits of This  Surah

It is better than 1000 months — 83 years and 4 months.

Allah decrees in it what will take place in the coming year.

That is why the believer who stands seeking it during these 10 nights believing and and anticipating its reward will have his sins forgiven.

The angels descend in it and they only descend to the earth with goodness, blessings, and mercy.

And the ruh is Jibreel. Allah mentioned him among the angels due to his rank and his specialty.

This night is salaam to the believers from every fear because so many people will be saved from the hellfire on this night.

It is salaam, peace because of the security in it from punishment because of the worship the slave offers to Allah.

And this will continue til the time of the dawn because the work of the night continues until then.

Whoever establishes the night of decree: a) having faith in Allah and in what Allah prepared in reward to those are establishing it and b) anticipate the reward and seeking it, then his previous sins are forgiven. This applies to one who knows its exact night and the one who doesn’t. Not knowing it is not conditional to getting its rewards.

We ask allah to make us from those who attain the night of the decree.

Ameen
